UPCOMING local rugby league star, Adyn Auguna has been snapped by a rugby league club in Gold Coast, Australia following an impressive try out last month.
In a statement, Sports Services Australia (SSA) said the 16-year-old impressed the Palm Beach Currumbin Rugby League.
“Adyn took a leap earlier this month (October) to fly over to the Gold Coast where he would put his 93kg, 6’2’’ frame to the test at the Palm Beach Currumbin Rugby League trials, which was a new experience for the almost 16-year-old who captained and played U19s rugby league for the premiership winning Avatiu Eels, back home in Rarotonga,” SSA said.
The powerhouse second rower, impressed the club, who have now accepted him into their Excellence Programme for 2017.
Auguna has also found his local league home up in the Gold Coast stronghold of the Burleigh Bears.
